Foundation Wardrobe
Minimal Coverage - Cargo_HD CC Cream - This is one of those all-in-one moisturizers that hydrates, protects and evens out. It doesn't cover marks, but the ashy yellow tone really helps minimize redness. This has a surprisingly matte finish given how hydrating it is.
Daily Do-it-all - Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation - The very moment I termed this my Holy Grail foundation, it was repackaged and reformulated. D'oh! I haven't tried the new version yet, but I'm crossing my fingers it's not too too different. Bronzer Bunny did a great video comparing the two, but I'd need to get matched in-store. One day! This water-based foundation is the most incredible foundation I've ever used. It's super thin, pigmented and leaves you feeling like your'e wearing an ultralight moisturizer. Shade selection is limited, but this is one of the closest matches I've found.
Perfected Coverage - Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in 123 - This is the foundation I break out for evenings, filming, any time I want really perfect coverage. It has a beautiful balance of pigment and texture so that most marks are covered, but it still looks like skin. This formula dries to a very realistic satin-matte finish, but with powder it goes complete matte and ends up bullet proof. I occasionally mix equal parts with Becca Shimmering Skin perfector for a beautifully luminous, dewy texture. Shade options are (nearly) endless, so you're likely to find a match.
Great picks! I haven't tried any of these! I've heard great things about Koh Gen Do, but I won't buy a foundation without having tried a sample first, and for me the access is very limited anyways. I need to check out the MUFE one! It seems like a great classic that most people love!
ReplyDeleteBoth are great -- mufe is so flexible and can be really sheered out or built up!
DeleteI remember trying the MUFE eons ago and hated how "covering" it was! I was a kid! a makeup noob! :P Anyways I love mixing the Becca perfector in moonstone in anythign I want to sheer out or to make things glowy! Love it! :-)

YES that's the colour I use! Seriously mufe HD + Becca shimmering skin perfect or is the most perfect base ever.
DeleteI've yet to try MUFE HD, but am super curious! Definitely tempted by the Koh Gen Do as well... wish it were easier to snag here in Toronto! xo

I know! And it's such a struggle to fight for your shade on hautelook
DeleteLove MUFE HD! I'm intrigued by the Cargo CC cream, I love a good CC cream and could use a little bit of matteness :)
ReplyDeleteIm not much of a bb/cc/dd/xx cre user, so this one surpassed my expectations for sure! I used it in my most recent video, so check it out in action there :-)
DeleteI really like the MUFE HD foundation, actually.... haven't tried the other 2 though :-P
ReplyDeleteIsn't it MAGICAL?? I really think you'd like the mufe hd
Deletehmm haven't really tried these but did sample a few shades of the MUFE hd. once again, no perfect colour match (or even one thats sort of close that i can wear alone) :(!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've honestly never been able to find a perfect colour match -- I always add green corrector to everything. That said, these three are the closest I've ever come; I'll gladly wear any of them without corrector.
DeleteKoh Gen Do is one brand I want to get into. I tried their gommage face peeling thing a month ago and was HOOKED.
ReplyDeleteI want to try that! Gommage is my favourite thing!
DeleteOuuu, I want to try the Cargo base now since it sounds quite similar to Jouer Matte Moisture. I've wanted to try the ~infamous~ MUFE HD for years now, but never got around to getting a sample. And, it's just so pricey (well, pricey when I first started dabbling in makeup!)
ReplyDeleteI have only heard of MUFE foundation and not the other two, where have I been all this while?! I do love a light coverage foundation so will check out Cargo CC cream, thanks!
