Why I don't moisturize my body

1. I'm lazy.  Occam's Razor -- the simplest answer is often the right one.

2. Why do we even moisturize our bodies?  For one, my body skin has never felt tight the way my face skin occasionally can.  I also don't feel that my body overproduces oil the way my face does if i don't keep it properly hydrated.  There's probably a really good reason to moisturize your body but...see #1.

3. Fine, I occasionally experience flakiness in the winter (limited to the shin area), but I tend to solve that issue by exfoliating really well.  Get yourself a Salux bath cloth -- you'll have the smoothest skin without having to deposit lotion over a square mile of skin.  Also, your body wash will last longer since it creates lather like no loofah could ever aspire to.

4.  I'm not exaggerating, I'm really tall and it's a lot of body to cover.

5. On the rare occasions I do moisturize, it's with Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse (get it here) and nothing else.

  1. Have to say...for as into skincare as you are, I was really shocked to read this LOL!!! How about this...the skin on your body ages too, and keeping it exfoliated, moisturized, balanced and fed antioxidants & vitamins can go a long way to keeping the skin on your body look as healthy as the skin on your face :-) Whether my skin 'feels' like it needs it or not, I've been moisturizing my body after every shower/bath since I was in my teens...I don't even think about it...it's simply routine after so long and I feel weird when I don't moisturize my body! I kind of liken this to not wearing eye cream on a regular basis. Sure, you may feel like your body/eyes don't need the moisture now, but it's in the longer run that will get you!!

    1. Omg I know, I really need to get on it because I can't even imagine what will happen to my skin if I have a child or something

  2. Hahaha I didn't know this!!! I am really surprised! I can skip lotion in Taiwan, but here I do need some, especially in winter! Otherwise I could feel my skin drying out, and that's not very pleasant.

  3. I hear ya sista!! I live in a hot and humid country so my skin doesn't get dry at all. Well, maybe for my feet but that's another story. As for my body, I sometimes moisturize when I feel like it but most of the time, nope. Lazy.

    1. It's not even a little hot/humid here but my laziness trumps all!

  4. LOL! Lazy is always a good reason. But any oiliness I have on my face, does not exist on my body. And I am prone to contact dematitis and the dryness of the forced hair heating KILLS my skin. :D But in the summer time, a good regular scrub will Salux will also keep my body in good shape, too.

  6. I'm 48. Most of my life I've NEVER moisturized after showers or bath. Sometimes I do if I'm itchy, and then I'll use Aveeno. All these people telling you you'll get creepy skin on your body if you don't-I say nope. I have none. Nada. Zip. What causes creep skin is AGING and your skin losing elasticity and I'm sorry, no body moisturizer is gonna stop that from happening. Pretty much like it REALLY won't do much for our faces either. That's reality folks. We get old, al of us. No matter what we slather on.

  8. SAME??? PEOPLE SAY THEY GET 'ASHY' IF THEY DON'T MOISTURIZE THEIR BODY BUT I'M LIKE LIKE, "THE SKIN ON MY BODY CAN FEND FOR ITSELF". Which makes it frustrating in the whole 'must use up body butters and lotions' department since I have so many (people just keep gifting them to me and it annoys me to no end).

  9. Haha, I am sooo lazy with moisturizing my body. When I do it regularly I know I've found a body lotion that I truly love! Aesops Rejuventate Intensive Body Balm is my fave :)

  10. Hahaha, I laughed out loud when I read your fourth reason ;-) I am actually the opposite of you. I go through body lotions, body creams and body butters like a baby through diapers! And I also have quite a bit of body to cover, lol.

  11. I wish I could go without moisturising, it takes ages! I love using shower oils when I'm lazy and I want it to be super quick. That's actually how I use the Nuxe one a lot too. :)

  12. why do i not have a salux cloth omg. Just paused and added one to my amazon cart. and, yes to all things. I'm a horrible horrible body moisturizer.. Ugh. I like the idea of shower oil but haven't really tried much yet. Bought the l'occitane almond one and then hated the scent haha. will probably try showering with the neutrogena bath oil before i go for a nice one... maybe..
