- Salux Wash Cloth - I once went without this for a week, and I didn't realize quite how much I rely on a Japanese bath towel to keep myself clean
- Beauty Blender - I was surprised by how effective this is! It's my new favourite way to powder.
- Shiseido Cotton - All other cotton is inferior. Buy it in bulk because cotton is only getting more expensive.
- Brow Brush - The one on the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil is the best I've ever used. Also good for teasing your bangs in small sections.
- MAC 217 - My go-to eye shadow brush
- Suqqu Cheek Brush - Review here. I don't regret purchasing this at all.
- Tweezerman Tweezers - Did you know Tweezerman is a Henckel's brand? That's why these are so sharp and precise!
- Curling Iron/Straightener - Depends on my hair cut. More layers = straightener, fewer layers = curling iron
- Blow Dryer - Currently using the T3 Featherweight travel dryer; it folds up so small!
- Muslin Cloth (not pictured) - It turns a nightly chore into a spa experience. Run in hot water, fold in half, lay over your face.

Hey, I'm with you on egg-shaped sponge (I have the Dior one), MAC 217, Tweezerman tweezers, blow dryer, and muslin cloth! Although I don't really use a muslin muslin cloth anymore. I discovered Sensai Sponge Chief, and I've never looked back since!
ReplyDeleteOmg. I don't even know what the Sensai sponge is, I'm googling NOW.
DeleteOoo the Suqqu brush! How I wish I could get that! :-) I am yet to try the Shiseido cotton but I have a feeling I wouldn't be able to use anything else after that and its going to be one very expensive habit! :P

It's actually SO worth it. Like, so different than anything else I've ever used before.
DeleteI absolutely love the shiseido cotton. They're so amazing to use. Too bad they're so expensive ):

I know! But totally life-changing, right?
DeleteYup, yup, yup! Beauty Blender and MAC 217 rock. I keep hearing people love the Hourglass Brow pencil, but is it warm? I'm finding most brow pencils way to warm for me.
ReplyDeleteSoft brunette is the only non-warm one, it's amazingly grey! I can't use anything with even a tiny bit of warmth so if this'll be great for you!
DeleteAmazing roundup! Ah, I'm so, so tempted by that Suqqu cheek brush. Will probably bite the bullet at some point :)

MAC 217, Beauty Blender, Shiseido Cotton, tweezers, boscia blotting linens and Almay makeup remover swabs for me!!!
ReplyDeleteOooh I haven't tried the last two yet!
DeleteI'm a slave to the muslin cloth but do I need a Salux Wash Cloth? Tell me more!!
ReplyDeleteYES YOU DO. I've never felt cleaner in my life -- if I don't shower with it, it doesn't feel like I've actually cleansed my body.
DeleteI have never in my life used a hair curler / straightener. I'm afraid of them, actually, even when the hairdresser does it on me. LOL! First experience with the pink beauty blender wasn't a good one. That thing ripped so easily. I'm trying my luck again with the black beauty blender and have mixed feelings. Yes to tweezers though. Stray hairs be gone :-)
ReplyDeleteIt took me a longgggg time to figure out how to use a curling iron -- I just think wavy hair is so much more flattering on me. Beauty blenderscanbe finicky, I only use them when damp to blend in product -- I don't love them for applying product directly to my face.
Deleteoo havne't considered using a sponge to powder...might try it with my RT sponge thing
ReplyDeleteand i agree about tweezers. must have must have.
i'm a huge fan of the delon ones you can find at costco. i swear they are the best.

A Beautiful Zen
I like the RT sponge as well! Mine was just SUPER dirty when I took this shot. I used to use the delon ones from Costco, these are wayyyy better.
DeleteI keep hearing about the shiseido cotton so will have to check it out. The Suqqu cheek brush has been on my to get list for ever, I just can't seem to bring myself to spend the ££ on it, even though I am sure it would be a good investment :)
ReplyDeleteClaire, I feel like you of all people would really appreciate the suqqu cheek brush. I don't think I know anyone with more refined taste than you!
